Successful Website Search Engine Marketing

Web site search engine marketing, or what is sometimes called website marketing strategy, has become somewhat of an art and science. It harnesses the technology behind the top search engines along with other techniques to generate traffic to your website, which in turn helps your site to become more profitable over time.

Web site search engine marketing should not be regarded as a sport or just some kind of kids game. When approached professionally, it can yield superior results for you and can place your site on the first page of search engine rankings by the top search engines.

The primary purpose of SEO search engine optimization is to create traffic for your site that is considered organic. This means that your site has been shown in the search result list as a matter of relevancy as opposed to it being a there because you paid for the listing through pay per click advertising.

When people employ one of the big search engines such as Yahoo, they are presented a page with a a page with sections of paid results and natural search results. It has been shown that a person is nine times more likely to click on the non-paid search results, which is an outstanding illustration of why website marketing strategies are so important and powerful.

You can certainly kick off the marketing efforts for your website by using paid search marketing methods, as this will get you traffic quickly, but of course you are paying for each visitor to your site. If you have not tested your site and are not sure if has a high conversion ratio, or a high percentage of visitors who make a purchase when they visit your site, then pay per click advertising can be very expensive.

However, if you focus your pay per click advertising efforts on long tail keywords that are relevant to your site, you will have less competition for those terms and you will be able to get a better position of a paid listing for a much lower cost per click. This is an outstanding strategy to begin testing your conversion ratio. Once you have established a good conversion rate, it may be time to target more competitive, higher cost search terms.

One of the essential components to being able to effectively pull off successful pay per click marketing strategies is thorough keyword research. Taking the time to study associated keyword terms and phrases will uncover keyword terms that you can target that have much less competition. These terms may even be a better fit and more relevant for your website. Disregarding proper research into related keyword terms can, in the end cost you time and money and contribute to frustration in your marketing endeavors.

The market knowledge that you gain from paid search marketing can also be hugely beneficial in your SEO search engine optimization efforts. You can use your conversion rates for various keyword terms or keyword phrases to help you become familiar with what keyword terms you should optimize for. In this way you can improve your organic search engine rankings for those keyword terms.

It has been reported that the best strategy for the long-haul is a combination that uses both pay per click advertising and SEO search engine marketing in harmony together. This combination allows webmasters to enjoy quick revenues from their sites while slowly growing their organic traffic from the results as listed by the major search engines.

I have been following James Brausch’s blog, and he recently changed over from a .com to a .org domain name. I am wondering if .org is better than .com for SEO…

I have been looking into software that will retrieve relavant websites for investigative purposes and one I am considering is a product called http://www.RaSof.com
and is from the Brausch product line. Does the ending on the website afford a better ranking if it is uncommon like .org or some other?
