What Is Bum Marketing?

Basically it’s article marketing on rocket boosters. You have an offer, target a long-tail keyword and write an article around that keyword before submitting it to a number of highly ranked traffic directories.

Sounds like a pretty simple concept only if you get it wrong, it becomes just a huge waste of your time. And there are plenty of ways to get it wrong!

For example, writing a closing paragraph along the lines of…”Well, I thank you for reading my article on network marketing and hope you enjoyed it…” is bum marketing lunacy and will only serve to drive the reader to hit the back button.

If you’ve just spent an hour on carefully crafting a solution based article with plenty of tips the reader can use and then close the article as indicated above, there is no incentive for them to continue on to the most important part of that article–the resource box.

The trick is to make the resource box part of the article and this is best served by forgetting about an article closer. You want the reader to maintain their enthusiasm for what you have written for long enough to see your resource box and be guided to the live link to your site or landing page.

The resource box needs to include a compelling benefit; one which the reader will have no qualms in checking out further. You see, you’ve created a relationship with your reader up until this point because you’ve kept them interested long enough to read to the end of the article.

If the resource box doesn’t continue to hold their interest then the spell you’ve put them under for a short period of time will be quickly broken and they’ll be off into cyber space looking for more solutions.
